From 2007 to 2011 we served as the development officers and planners for the Town of Black Diamond prior to them hiring a permanent full time planner. 

We were also awarded the Growth Study in 2009 where we outlined a sustainable growth plan for the medium and long term. This study also included medium and long range annexation studies, future land uses and population projections.

The Town of Claresholm engaged Planning Protocol 2 Inc. to prepare the North West Claresholm Area Structure Plan in January 2009.  The plan was a first for the Town in that instituted “urban-like” design guidelines that balance the need to retain the Town’s rural sense of place while enhancing safety and minimizing conflicts between land uses.  The public consultation process revealed a strong desire to create a variety of residential options and an interconnected pedestrian trail system. The North West Claresholm Area Structure plan allows for a full range of residential densities, organized along a backbone of open space and trails and supported by a neighborhood commercial node.

Development of the North West Claresholm Area Structure Plan will strongly support the Town economic development strategy, provide a range of housing choices and create a healthy future for all Town residents.
